OUR MANIFESTO

The Developers Club are a collective of young, passionate SME property developers & house builders, under the age of 40, from across the UK.

Our goal is to advocate for supportive policies that sustain and enhance the viability of SMEs in the housing sector, leading to a thriving industry of diverse, innovative, and quality new home delivery. We want to ensure SME developers are represented in industry decision-making bodies and policy forums.

We are on a mission to deliver 10,000+ new homes by 2030 across the UK and we believe the answer is simple. Empower SMEs.

We believe that property developers and housebuilders can be a huge force for positive changes in society; to build a following on social media, activate and concentrate the forces of the YIMBYs to reshape local politics in favour of quality, sustainable development throughout the country.

OUR OBJECTIVES

1) Efficiency in the Planning System: Planning Delay, Housing Decay

Streamlining Processes: Advocate for a simplified, predictable planning process with fixed timelines and more digital tools to reduce delays and uncertainties in building new homes.

Collaboration and Transparency: Promote more cooperation and transparency between local authorities and SME developers, with greater SME participation in planning discussions.

2) Access to Government Funding

Equitable Grants Distribution: Ensure government funds like Homes England grants are accessible to SMEs. Propose SME-specific funding programs and removal of bureaucratic barriers.

Financial Support and Incentives: Advocate for more financial support and incentives for SMEs, including low-interest loans, tax reliefs, and grants for land acquisition, construction, and innovative housing solutions.

3) Sustainable ESG Agenda

Realistic Implementation: Formulate a practical and achievable ESG agenda for SMEs, focusing on sustainable building, energy efficiency, and community engagement.

Support and Resources: Call for resources, training, and support from government and industry bodies to help SMEs adopt sustainable practices and recognise those leading in ESG initiatives.
